Personalized Wedding Ceremony Ideas
Check out these personalized wedding ceremony ideas to make your day even more special. It is a day that hopefully only comes around once. You want it to be the most romantic, beautiful day in your life.
- You could have a unique wedding ceremony entrance. Instead of the traditional wedding march, pick your own song to walk down to and show your personality. Get all your groomsmen and bridesmaids involved and have them dance down the aisle, or carry a special memento representing their involvement in the bride or groom’s life. Then as the bridesmaids or groomsmen come to the end of the aisle, they each put their sentimental item in a decorative Wedding Time Capsule. Then after the bride and groom each read their written vows, they put them in the wedding time capsule too. In the future, like on their 20th, 30th, or 50th anniversary, the couple gets to open their Wedding Time Capsule and reminisce about what life was like the day of their marriage. What a special day that will be when they open their Wedding Time Capsule together.
- Make your own unique Wedding aisle runner. Put special dates on it along with photos about your love story from the time you met until the date of your marriage where you will stand together. See the photo at the top of this blog for an example.
- Add a unique monogram to something at your wedding, like your wine glasses or wedding cake.
- Play old photos and videos of the bride and grooms life with each other from when they first met until now. It will be a stroll down memory lane or the aisle in this case.
- Read a unique story from a book besides just the Bible for your wedding. Pick something that represents you as a couple and shows your character together.
- Set up a different seating arrangement and have the guests sit in a circle of chairs around you. Then they can get all angles of your facial expressions during the wedding ceremony.
- Release Chinese lanterns, doves, or balloons into the sky after the wedding representing a new beginning together as a couple. Have guests write notes of hope, wishes, or prayer on the outside of each balloon before they are released.
- Do something different besides a Unity Candle and have a sand ceremony filling a vase with sand together as a couple.
- Pick a place that is different to have your wedding, besides just a church. For example, choose a theater, a home, art gallery or museum, zoo, the country side, beach, sports field, etc. Make is a place that will create fun an beautiful photos for you as a couple.
- Make your own wedding backdrop background. Use some of your favorite curtains. Set out a string of photos hanging on your backdrop from your lives together as a couple. For a night wedding, find beautiful lanterns or candles to line your aisle. Set off fireworks or have a bonfire pitch-in dinner for everyone after the wedding. Again, let your personality shine with your food choices too.
- Turn your program into something fun, like a fan or a story about who you are as a couple, how you met, and add a fun game for guests to play in the program while they wait for you to take your photos.
- Plant a tree as a couple representing a new life together.
-
Make a Wedding Time Capsule together before your special day of marriage. The bride and groom can fill out a “Message to the Future” letter to each other making predictions about their lives in the future. How many kids will you have? Where will you live in the future? You could also have friends and family members also fill out a “Message to the Future” letter telling funny stories that they remember about you as the couple. They could also leave words of wisdom or advice for how to stay married for years. That would be interesting and helpful from people who have been married for 50 years, that come to your wedding. You could also include a bottle of wine to put in a box and then during the ceremony the bride and groom take turns hammering the box shut. You can then open the wine when you have your first marriage fight together and read the advice from your friends and family of how to make a marriage work.
