Fun Honeymoon Ideas
Fun honeymoon ideas are easy to find all over the internet, but what about ideas of what to do on the way to your honeymoon? If you have been following our “Meeting the Love of your Life” blogs, this is a continuation. That night we left to go to our honeymoon, it was a place I wanted to go for a long time. Not everyone is invited there. Not everyone wants to go there for their honeymoon. We went to my new husband’s house. We slept in “our” bed together.
Then, we left the next day and went on a long road trip. It was a cold December 14th. I had no idea what to pack the night before. I has no idea where he was taking me. I was nervous and excited at the same time. My new husband said pack a little of everything. What does that mean. I kept asking him specific questions to get clues along the drive. I just had to figure out where we were going. It was driving me crazy.
He said just sit back and have fun. Enjoy the road trip. He certainly enjoyed it as he kept almost getting off an exit to tease me that we were near our destination. I tried to study each sign we passed them to figure out the puzzle of where we were going. I can now honestly say it was the most fun road trip I think I have ever had. We stopped on the way at a hotel, so that gave me a clue that it was going to at least be a two day trip or we could be near our destination and he was taking me the next morning. No such luck.
On the Road Again
We finally arrived at our destination in Miami, Florida one mile from the pier. He said we are going on a cruise. I was so excited. This is something I have always wanted to do but never thought I would. What a great blessing of many adventures my husband had been to me since then. I will tell you more about the cruise in another blog. For now, lets discuss fun honeymoon ideas and even fun things to do on the road trip until you get there.
- Go sight seeing along the way. Think about your personalities. Would you like to go to an old place in history, museum, or would you rather stop and go shopping, see a movie, or go to a park.
- Have fun and stop at all major cities along with way to spend some time there. Eat at one new restaurant in each city.
- Go back in time when you were a child and play car games. Play “I Spy” or the “Alphabet” car game where you have to find something that begins with the next letter in the alphabet and the other person has to guess what it is.
- Make a scrapbook as you go. This is a project you can do that you never feel like you have time to do when you are home. Work with each other and come up with comments to put next to each photo in your scrapbook.
- Make sure to take plenty of your fun songs you like to listen to together. You can even have fun singing them together. Maybe you will make it big together and become the next musical group.
- Go camping one night on the way. Look at the stars together or make pictures out of the clouds. Remember doing that as a kid? I love reminiscing. That is why I would also encourage you to save all of your souvenirs and photos along the way in your very own decorative Wedding Time Capsule. Open the time capsule again years later, like on your 20th Anniversary, and reminisce about what life was like for you when you first got married. Priceless. Get your own Wedding Time Capsule here.
Whatever you do, make sure you document your trip. Take pictures. Post them to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Have fun making memories. So, what are some fun road trip activities you can think of? Share your ideas below with others who are looking for help to pass the time.
Making Milestone Moments Count,
– Marcie
