Scrapbook Fun for All
Scrapbook Fun for All
Scrapbook fun for all in the family is easy to do when you have great ideas to get you started. Scrapbook pages include many fun things like creative themes, decorative pieces, borders, embellishments, journaling, or other special things you can think of to share your story. Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to start. That is why we want to offer you a faster alternative, which we will discuss later in this blog.
Our goal is to help you get old photographs out of the boxes in your home and into photo albums to start off. We also want to help you tie in the memorabilia that is associated with these photos and put them in a special place as well. For example, a scrap piece of your grandmother’s wedding dress that she hand made is saved on the scrapbook page.
Memorabilia to Save for Scrapbook Fun
Other flat items that are memorabilia or mementos to save in a scrapbook are just as important as the photos themselves. For example, a lock of hair, special letter from someone who influenced you deeply, an old sketch or artwork, or a button, pin, or material from a favorite shirt you or someone else wore.
Also make sure you tie in your own personality in this scrapbook fun for all. Include a page from each family member that is an “About Me” page. Fill out a biography of what your life is currently like in this world. Imagine reading this years later and noticing how the answers are different 20 or 30 years later.
Scrapbook Fun Creates the Perfect Story
Create the perfect story that preserves your memories for all time. It may be overwhelming when you put all your scrapbook fun supplies on the table, spread out, ready to use. Make sure to gather things to make your scrapbooking faster and easier, like already done current magazine articles of things happening in the world, while you were on vacation, or while you were graduating high school.
Make sure to cut out the newspaper ad of the favorite toy your child had to have for Christmas. It will be interesting to see how this toy fades over time, or changes over the years including the ad for it. Cut out a picture of a home magazine that inspired you to decorate a room in your new house. This will show what is popular at this time, compared to how your home styles change in the future when you look at your scrapbook. Also, we suggest keeping an actual copy of your great grandmother’s favorite vintage recipe next to the picture of her making it in your scrapbook.
Make a Time Capsule for Faster Scrapbook Fun
Finally, we suggest making a Baby, Wedding, or “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule to help you complete your scrapbook fun faster. Sometimes as busy parents we can feel guilt and shame for not making such an elegant scrapbook for our children. Save time and simply toss your favorite mementos, memorabilia, photographs, letter, etc in the time capsule.
Then, seal it for however long you choose to be opened years later in the future. Imagine reminiscing as a family as you open your Family Time Capsule together during a special holiday. If you are interested in making your own time capsule, get started here.
