Save Life Lessons
Save Life Lessons
Save life lessons and pass them on to your children and grand children. Life is full of lessons, some still waiting to be learned. Did you have goals when you were younger? What did you want to be when you grew up? Remember making a time capsule in kindergarten answering some of these questions or filling out an “about me” page. Your kindergarten may have even sent you your time capsule back to open it.
In recent years, we all have learned a lot. Depending on how old you are, you may have learned that our parents love and care for us, but cannot always be there for us when we need them. What lessons from your past have helped you through your struggles to this day? It is inspiring to read back through old journal pages and seeing what all you have overcome. You can save life lessons like those, to turn to and learn how to use your gifts and drive to overcome them for future issues in your life as well.
Learn from Life Lessons
It is important to focus on the blessings and positive things in life, when things get hard. We are constantly learning life lessons. Do not let these go to waste, but instead teach these lessons to those around you. You are still great even though you may make mistakes in life. It is really a matter of what do or have you done with your issues, problems, or mistakes. How have you turned your lemons into lemonade?
The world moves so fast, but it is important to slow down and write out your 5, 10, and 20 year plan for life. What is on your bucket list? Lessons and challenges occur as you are working on your life goals. Write down what you learn at certain ages, for it will be great wisdom for your children and grand children to read and learn from, in the future when they are a similar age.
Save Life Lessons in Photo Albums
Save your life lessons in photo albums. Our lives are filled with stories waiting to be told. A picture really can say a thousand words. Also, old, nostalgic and sentimental items can tell just as descriptive of a story. Many lessons, we learn through accident. As you are growing up and learning at the same time, you slowly start to realize how blessed, loved, and cared for you are. You also realize how talented or resilient you may be. Where did you gain your positive attitude in life? Who did you learn that from? How will you pass that on to your children and great grand children? Many times it is important to save life lessons in photo albums, time capsules, treasure or hope chests, etc so this insight can be the catalyst for personal growth and change for the better. Many times we realize, while viewing photo albums and reminiscing, we are working too hard and not seeing our friends or family as much as we want to. Life lessons never cease. We are constantly learning.
Save Life Lessons and Pay It Forward
How do we turn these saved life lessons into actionable changes for the better of ourselves and others? Come together as a family and teach about how it is important to understand ourselves and the world. Create a family time capsule and save these life lessons in written, visual, audio, and tangible item form.
Record your grandparents voice or on video, teaching about the life lessons they learned. Have all family members hand write a “Message to the Future” letter for the grandchildren and great grandchildren to read 20 or 30 years from now when this family time capsule is opened again. Save heirloom items tied into these life lessons, to pass down to future family members at your family reunion. It is a priceless gift that is very popular.
