Remember your firsts
Remember your firsts
Remember your firsts, because they can bring back memories and teach lessons to your children or grandchildren. Remember your first crush? Were they a celebrity or someone you knew? We have so many firsts in our lives, that make a great impact on us. Sometimes they become milestone moments for us.
Remember your firsts, because they can be very fun to talk about with friends and family. They are great conversation starters. Sometimes our firsts can be something that is sad too, as it may be our first break up with a boyfriend years ago. Hopefully years later you can laugh about what happened in your first relationship.
Memories are stories of our past that we want to capture and save forever. You can do that with a time capsule. Check out these unique and decorative Baby, Wedding, and “Any Occasion” DIY time capsules. These are meant to be displayed for about 18-20 years, then reopened so you can pull your old favorite mementos and stories out and reminisce about what life was like, when you were born for example.
What all firsts can you remember? I still remember my first car I was so proud to buy on my own. It was an ’87 Ford Tempo. It was white and let’s just say a lot of character to it. It was a great, heavy car though, so when you went fast around the curves on ramps on the interstate, it would not sway at all to the left or right. You never felt like you were going to roll in that heavy car. I loved it. I have so many stories attached to that car of my dad and I bonding as he helped me fix things on it, when I could not afford to take it to a mechanic. Besides, my dad wanted me to know how to take care of certain things on a car myself. To this day, I am so grateful for him teaching me these things.
Where is the first place you went in your first car? Who all was with you? What were your parent’s reaction, when you drove off on your own for the first time? Remember your firsts, because they can prepare you for when you are a parent yourself and have to send off your child for the first time in their first car.
Remember your firsts, for one day they will be your child’s firsts too. Children really do grow up so fast, and we want to be prepared to teach them well about our world and how to handle the firsts. Here is a list of firsts to write about in a “Message to the Future” letter and save in a time capsule to give to your child when they reach that age.
