Preserving Future Hopes and Dreams
We are learning about preserving future hopes and dreams, though specific scrapbook pages. How do you make preserving memories fun? Today we are getting more specific about your future hopes and dreams in many different areas of life.
Do you remember cutting out several pictures from many different magazines and making a collage, as a kid in school. That was one of my favorite activities as a child in elementary school because it helped me decide what I want my life to look like in the future.
Job or Career Hopes or Dreams
What do you want to be when you grow up? No matter your age, post photos of your current job or the future job you want to have. Write down goals you want to accomplish in your job to move up the ladder. What do you want the work environment to be like? What would you do with coworkers outside of the job for fun?
Family Hopes and Dreams
What special traditions do you want to continue in your family from your parents? What new traditions will you start? Where will you go as a family on vacation? What will daily evenings look like with you and your kids? How many kids do you predict you will have?
Wedding Day and/or Marriage Hopes and Dreams
What have you always dreamed of having in your wedding since a little girl? What color will your dress be? Write down your guest list. This will be interesting to see how this list changes as you get older and approach your wedding. Pretend like you are a wedding planner and write down all the details of your wedding finding similar pictures from magazines or online that you would like on your scrapbook page. Also make sure to include actual photos from your marriage or wedding day if you are already a happily married couple. Post pictures or write down ideas of your future hopes and dreams of big anniversaries coming up.
House Hopes and Dreams
What will your dream house look like? Have you always wanted to live in the city or country with animals? Where in the world do you want to live? Write down ideas of things you think you will spend the most money on your home. How will you decorate for the holidays? Will you constantly have parties for guests at your home? Again find photos of your home now that shows who you are or find photos in magazines or online about the dream sunroom or pool you want in your back yard in the future.
College Hopes and Dreams
What college do you want to go to in the future? If you have already been to college, what did you like the most about it? Where do you hope your college degree takes you in the future? Who do you hope to work with someday?
Grandparent Hopes and Dreams
How many grandkids do you want in the future? What will you do with them for fun? What kinds of goodies or snacks will you always have ready for them when they come over to your house? Post pictures of this candy or activities you will do with them. Write down comments to your future grandkids about your hopes and dreams for them. You may even include a “Message to the Future” letter on your scrapbook page for your future grandkids to read from you 20 years from now when you give it to them. You can even save this letter in a Baby Time Capsule, so the child can open and read it (along with other memorabilia in the time capsule you may want to pass on to the child as heirloom favorites).
Leisure Time Hopes and Dreams
What do you currently enjoy doing for fun? How do you think these hobbies and interests will change in the future? What do you hope to do some day, for leisure, after work each day? Will you have to go through a special class to get certified to do this fun activity in the future? Again, clip photos from hobby magazines or print pictures from the internet about your hobbies or interests you think you will enjoy doing in the future.
