How to Write a Personal Letter

How to Write a Personal Letter

Baby Time Capsule message to the future

You know every day we go to get our mail. Junk, junk, bill, and junk. Those are usually the words I hear out loud as my husband and I are filtering though things. I am sure you can relate. What ever happened to receiving a nice personal letter from a friend or family member? Everything is moving so fast, people are busier, and we have lost the art of sitting down to write a letter, even if it is just one paragraph.

Do you remember the excitement you had as a child when you received your own letter or card in the mail? What a great time capsule flashback moment to think about. We don’t want you to just think about it though, we want you to do it. Thanksgiving is a perfect time of year to reflect, and thank those who have influenced you in life. Thank those who have given so much to you.

No excuses, even if you feel like you have to write the letter while your favorite tv show is on. Just do it. Something is better than nothing received in the mail, especially from a long lost friend, you haven’t seen in years. I am feeling convicted myself as I am writing this, thinking of several people I want to write. We actually encourage you to write the letter in a room where you can think more, but understand this fast paced life gets to us all sometimes.

We here at The Original Time Capsule company want to let you know that we strive to keep this art and feeling of care and love alive, by writing a personalized note in your package when you order a decorative Baby or Wedding Time Capsule.

Here is a photo of our most recent shipment of a Baby Time Capsule to a customer. The person who purchased the time capsule wanted to add a personal note to the box, for the person she was shipping it to as a gift. We are more than happy to do this for anyone, just ask or make a note of it in your order.

A card or letter is a great way to reach out, and let someone special know that you are thinking about them or appreciate them. It is such a surprise to find a card or letter at random times throughout the year. We are fans of personalized gifts, let alone a personalized card or letter. Send a card to your grand babies. Their eyes light up when they receive something special like that from someone that loves them so, so much.

Message to the Future

Have you ever thought about what life would be like in the future? Where will your own children go to college? What will gas prices be like when your children are adults? Wouldn’t it be fun to make these predictions in a message to the future letter to your child, and see if they come true years later? Imagine the fun reminiscing and pulling out your own baby shoes from the time capsule and other popular toys or a newspaper from the year you were born in the time capsule, along with a touching hand-written letter from a grandfather who is no longer with the family. How touching would that be?

Cards and letters mean a lot, whether you are a child or an adult. Who are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Let them know with a letter. Cards and letters are tangible memories for your children and grandchildren to hold onto for years to come. Help shape their future, by telling them an inspiring story, a life lesson, a funny joke with a meaning. You never know what children hold on to in their memory to help their future decisions. Handwritten notes or letters are a rare commodity. It is a lost art. Personal letters can be very impactful and show that someone invested time in thinking about you. It is more than a simple Thank you text or tweet online. Show someone you value their friendship and love. A personalized letter is an investment in a relationship, whether for business or personal. Handwritten, personal cards or letters also have a sense of permanence. How many of you have a file or box like me with a stack of old high school letters, yearbooks, love notes, etc? It is fun to reminisce years later and read some of the old letters, notes, or cards. It can re-motivate you in life. What a great tangible and enduring gift to give someone this holiday season, and it is a cheap gift. It only takes a few minutes.

A physical letter is memorable. Will you send yours today? Let’s get nostalgic in our personal and professional communication more. Let someone know you care this holiday season. We like to help our customers reach out to family and friends using a lasting and positive connection with personalized letters. Just ask, we will gladly put one in your purchased time capsule as a gift for someone too. All you have to do, is tell us what to write.

What or who are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Comment below.
