Celebrate Milestones
What do you to do celebrate milestones? It is so important to celebrate milestones in our life and those around us. It is a way to see how far we have come or what all we have accomplished in life.
The reason we save photos, mementos, and make scrapbooks is because we want to preserve our memories, celebrate milestones, and share our stories with others. From birth, to graduation, retirement, a special anniversary, or a moment you have been working for your whole life, celebrate milestones.
Make these moments very special. There are so many different, free, fun photo templates online you can use to make a beautiful collage. Hang it in your home proudly when you are done. Celebrate milestones and create something to remind you of your own goals and dreams at the same time. Write out your bucket list as an individual, best friends, or a family. Then, create your own time capsule with this list, along with other sentimental mementos inside. A time capsule is a great way to celebrate milestones when you open it in the long term future.
A baby time capsule can highlight the first 18 to 20 years of your child’s life. From first grade to a senior in high school, the years go by very fast. Preserve their artwork in photos, and in paper form. Also save rewards, report cards, and other small and simple things that will remind your baby about what life was like the first few years of their life. Then, seal the time capsule and choose a “do not open until” date to open the time capsule in the future. For example, what an awesome high-school graduation party it would be to have your now grown child open their own baby time capsule. Your child can even read “message to the future” letters from friends and family members (some of who may no longer be around). How priceless would that moment be to read fun predictions they all hand wrote in these letters?
I have been in a celebration mode and realize that it is so valuable to give yourself the credit you deserve for your successes. Do not wait for your friends or family to set up a party because it is your birthday. There is more to life than the normal holidays, birthdays, and other celebrations everyone usually acknowledges. Celebrate milestones too. You have worked hard on your journey. So, appreciate yourself, go out and celebrate, and tell the world your story. You may even encourage someone else on a similar path toward their milestone.
On the Today Show the other day, I heard that there is a new trend that people are using the #selflove for. People are hiring professional camera videographers to record their everyday life. That may get a little boring, but it is important to celebrate your milestones when they happen. Instead of looking at things as win or lose in this world, or constantly comparing yourselves to others, celebrate milestones in your own personal life. We are all different. What are you working on currently? What have you accomplished recently? Success builds or feeds off of success, so go ahead and celebrate your milestones. It can fuel you for your next adventure or challenge in life.
