Feeling of Nostalgia
Feeling of Nostalgia
Do you know what the feeling of nostalgia is like? Remember those feelings you get when you look at old photo albums. Do you remember your first family car, your favorite Christmas, your first prom date, etc? When we look back at old photos it gives us a strong feeling of nostalgia. I describe nostalgia as a warm fuzzy feeling you get when you have flashbacks to some of the most wonderful days of your life.
I remember my grandfather just making up songs with his deep southern voice. It was such a great memory that we have recorded only on one cassette tape. I cannot put a price on that tape. I remember the days of trying to catch small painted turtles with my two younger brothers out of our back pond. I remember the best cheesy broccoli rice casserole my grandmother made each time we pull out a copy of the recipe. The feeling of nostalgia is something that hits the spot on all of our senses, as we reminisce about what life was like in the past. It is like opening up a time capsule of past stories.
We all have certain stories and experiences from our life that stirs up great emotions. Feelings of nostalgia come when you hear your older family members start stories with, “I remember when…” They sometimes tell these stories over and over, and many times the younger generation does not want to listen. We are encouraging you to be the listener and start writing these stories down, let alone recording them on audio or video. These are precious stories to pass down to future generations.
Look around your home, church, social clubs, and even local restaurants or movie theaters you go to frequently. What mementos or memorabilia do you see that you can preserve or save in a time capsule. Reminisce 20, 30, or 50 years later with your friends and family as you open the time capsule you made a long time ago about what the world was like at that time. How much fun would that be?
Memories can boost our mood, so how can we increase the feeling of nostalgia? Have you ever caught yourself daydreaming? It is good for the brain. Just think about how quickly an old song can stir up so many emotions about the good old days. So get started today with our decorative Baby, Wedding, or “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule, and collect your memories and mementos to look at again years later.
Baby’s Time Capsule is the perfect gift to commemorate this magical event. Parents, friends, and family members fill Baby’s Time Capsule with memorabilia – such as the daily newspaper, hospital photos, videos, fashion catalogs, and more – from the day and year of their child’s birth. As well as the Profile of the Baby’s World and other items that are already included in the capsule – all for the baby to open and enjoy as an adult years from now.
What a special day it will be as you gather around as a family or couple intimately, and bond again years later, opening their time capsule to read those precious letters and relive their history, while the family and/or couple re-celebrates their wedding day and first year of marriage.
Many brides use the “Message to the Future” letters at their Bridal Shower or at the Wedding Reception for guests to fill out while they all wait on the happy married couple to finish their wedding day photography. This Wedding Time Capsule is a very unique gift that lasts forever.
“Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule
Very versatile, this DIY Time Capsule is so much fun. You can put any photo on the outside to make it for any event, occasion, charity, or any milestone moment in your life, even a Family Time Capsule for example.
So which time capsule would you like to start with? Comment below.
Making Milestone Moments Count,
