Creative Ways to Bond with your Baby

Creative Ways to Bond with your Baby

Baby Time Capsule Preserve Memories

You just had your baby recently or within the past year. This time is important to start bonding with your baby. It is amazing how fast life can go by, but when a baby is born, we go back in time ourselves and try to remember what it was like when we first discovered little things about the world. However from ages 1 to 3 it is very hard to remember what happened in our lives. Let your child know how much you loved him or her by video recording what bonding activities you did with him or her.

Build your relationship with your new baby early, and start the mentality that you are the one they can rely on. Teach them that you will always be there and can tell them anything. This all starts with the bonding processes between baby and mother or father.

Sometimes we can forget the importance of touch, hugs, kisses, love, and kind words as we go throughout our busy day with others. It is not because we do not care about these things. It is just some things that can get put aside as we go through our to do list during the day.

Let’s stop for a few minutes now and reflect on creative ways to bond with your baby. It will be worth it years into the future.

1. As you are trying to lose your weight from your pregnancy, search for a you tube video about the best mommy baby workouts that are fun to do together. Your baby is your mini me, so teach him or her at a young age to take care of themselves and exercise.

2. We all have a desire to be loved. Make it a habit to express this love by telling them “I love you because ___________.” Fill in the blank. Your baby will respond to physical touch like hugs and kisses, let alone the words that come out of your mouth to match your facial expressions. Do this consistently multiple times per day.

3. Eat with your baby. Get them used to everyone sitting at the table together at least once. This develops a habit of sharing about your day and getting to know your child at an early age.

4. Turn off your phone, computer, social media, etc. and spend at least one hour per day in silence with your baby or child playing together. This teaches your baby how much you care and want to listen to them to discover what their interests are. Read them a book. What is their favorite story?

5. Having a consistent schedule every day helps increase the bond between you and your baby, because it builds trust and expectation. This helps decrease anxious moments between you and your child too.

6. The time really does fly when you have a baby. It takes time getting used to each other, when the baby is first born. Every day moments count. Feeding time and rubbing lotion on your baby’s skin is helpful to help you and your baby bond immediately.

7. Be patient for your baby’s first smile. It may take some time to figure out your baby’s personality, but when you do, you will want to do things to increase your baby’s likes, increasing the chance for a smile and a bonding moment. Make bath time fun with toys. Wrap a warm blanket around your baby. Most importantly cuddle up close, to increase your baby’s bond and create powerful lifelong memories.

So, again, where do you keep all these memories. How would you describe to your baby in the future what all you did to bond together. Don’t just describe it, record it on a voice or video recorder. What story book did you read every night. You might as well record your voice reading it. Imagine the moment when your baby turns 18 and graduates high school, and is able to reminisce about what life was like when he or she was born.
