Baby Information for Memory Books
Precious baby information for memory books need to be written down as soon as it happens. In our last blog, we discussed must have pages for your baby book. We are continuing this conversation in this blog in more detail. Sometimes we get caught up in all the business of taking care of baby, changing diapers, making a bottle, etc that we forget to write down interesting stories about baby to read about in the future.
Imagine what it would be like to embarrass your baby at high-school graduation, but pulling out old stories, or baby’s first favorite toy from the Baby Time Capsule where you saved these precious memories. That would be one very memorable high school graduation party to remember, as friends and family gather around to reminisce.
As your baby grows, you will observe many things. So, what baby information for memory books should you make sure you have written down?
- Your baby showed signs of hunger, when he or she did what?
- You noticed your baby was sleepy when …
- Your baby became clingy or wanted to be held when… (or when someone specific was around).
- What specific things seemed to comfort your baby?
- What were some of the first things your baby learned?
- What do you notice your baby doing, that your parents said you always did yourself when you were young?
- Write down some of the first comments family members said when they first saw you.
- The moment your baby first made you laugh? What was it about? Also make sure to record when your baby first giggled.
- The first shopping store your baby walked on their own.
- Your favorite place to go visit.
- When you began to point at things. What were some of these things you pointed to the most?
- Baby’s first words.
- What were favorite toys during bath time?
- You started showing your personality when….. and your personality is like _(insert family member’s name)._____
- Some of your favorite books or games were….
- You were attached to and always had ________________ in your hands.
- Make sure to record when your baby first:
- Smiled
- Cooed
- Laughed
- Slept though the night
- Grasped a toy
- Sucked their thumb
- Found their feet
- Rolled over
- Got their first tooth
- Sat up
- Stood up
- Clapped
- Waved hello/goodbye
- Said “Hi” or “Bye-Bye”
Whatever you do, make sure you capture your grandparents feelings and thoughts when first meeting and interacting with the baby during the first year. You never know when the grandparents or great grandparents may no longer be around the baby, so make sure to have important wisdom, life tips, and old stories about life shared by them to the baby. Have the grandparents write these stories out in a touching “Message to the Future” letter to the baby. Maybe even record in audio or video this moment of the grandparents leaving messages to the baby. Save it to You Tube, to view years in the future.
It is a time capsule moment waiting to be opened and viewed later in life, when the baby is older and can appreciate these special messages of hope, inspiration, and history of the family. Capture all this baby information for memory books in a meaningful keepsake. Something that is heartfelt, enduring, and unique. Preserve all these memories and favorite mementos or memorabilia in a decorative Baby Time Capsule, as seen here.
Making Milestone Moments Count,
– Marcie
