Impact the Next Generation
Impact the Next Generation
Impact the next generation in your family, and pass on stories that help them grow in character. Help your great grandchildren learn what it takes to move up the ladder in this life. Teach your children strategies about how to problem solve and get through the good and bad times in life. You never know when and how what your children learn at a young age, will be used in the future to help them or someone else they know. Impact the next generation, like passing on a baton to continue a race to win.
Pay it Forward
In order to pass on great wisdom, stories, and teachable moments to impact the next generation, it takes a great strategy. Create a purposeful plan to make sure you make an impact on your world and your great, great grandchildren. What are you involved in to help give back to the world? Are you a part of a social club or non-profit organization helping others? If so, why? What is it about these programs that makes you want to be involved?
If you are involved in these programs, then how much more do you want to give to your own family and impact their lives for the good and for future generations. Who was the most influential person in your life? What did they do that made such an impact on you? When I was working in counseling helping youth and young adults, many people would say their parents impacted them the most. Parents do have one of the highest influence on their children. Parents reproduce who they are in their lifestyle, thoughts, and attitudes. Parents help form the value systems of their children which in turn will impact the next generation.
Isn’t She So Cute
Children simply copy their parents and we say, “Isn’t that so cute.” Let’s stop and think about that for a moment. Some things are cute to imitate. Some things may concern us if they are mirrored. We want to challenge you to make sure you pass on the things that matter to you as a family the most. What are the positive things that has helped your family become the way they are? What are your family virtues?
Set up a Baby Shower that includes a decorative Baby Time Capsule. Have family and friends fill out a “Message to the Future” letter about these tips, advice, and words of wisdom or predictions where you see the baby in the future. Then when your baby graduates high school, let your child read these letters before going off into the real world or college.
What a great way to impact the next generation. Include mementos and memorabilia in this Baby Time Capsule too that show what life was like when your baby was born. Imagine the celebration of laughs and tears when the Baby Time Capsule is opened and you all get to reminisce. Throughout many milestone moments in our lives, it is the parents who are there for us as a child. Make the most of these memories and own these moments by saying how proud of them you are through photos, letters, and creating lessons for your children to learn from and apply to their future.

Making Milestone Moments Count,
