Memorable Father’s Day Gifts
Memorable Father’s Day Gifts
Memorable Father’s day gifts are meant to be saved forever. These gifts are meant to be cherished, whether handmade or not. These memorable Father’s day gifts are more than a new tie or mug. Try something different this year, and express your own personality through the gift. Thank your father for his influence in your life.
- Make a hand print of the father’s new baby. What a precious keepsake for the father to have on his desk for years. It is like taking his kids to his office every day. Go have new family photos taken too, so he can add them to his family desk collection.
- Go back in time and make your father’s mother’s old recipes. Let your father talk about the good old days when he grew up as he is eating these old, favorite recipes. Take photos of him eating the food and write down the story he tells on the back of each photo. Then, for Christmas, this photo can be a memory ornament.
- Many fathers just want great quality time together with the family. So, play his favorite game or have a fun movie marathon day and let him watch whatever he wants for a full day.
- Don’t just buy a card, make your own homemade cards with the kids.
- Make homemade coupons for dad. For example, one coupon for a “FREE car wash” or one coupon for a “FREE Breakfast in Bed day.”
- Take the time to finally go through all those old photos of dad, that have been stored away in an old shoe box. Scan the old photos of when he grew up as a child and make a home movie for him to watch. The load this home movie to You Tube to make sure it is saved for years to come.
- Memorable Father’s day gifts include things that increase the bonding between him and his children. Since the father may work so many hours and be stressed out many times, have everyone turn off their cell phones. Unplug the home phone too, if you still have one. Spend some time with only your family. No distractions. Spend time together doing your father’s favorite hobbies or interests.
- Have a custom t-shirt made with the father’s favorite saying on it or something that he says all the time himself.
- Set up a treasure hunt hiding many of your father’s favorite old mementos or memorabilia with clues to find them. At the end of this treasure hunt can be a Father’s Day Time Capsule (made from the “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule seen here). Finally, have the father put all the items he found in the treasure hunt into the time capsule. Also have the family and friends fill out “Message to the Future” letters, making predictions about what dad will be like in the future 10, 20, or 30 years from now when the time capsule is opened again. Then pick your “Do NOT Open Until” date and put it on the lid to open the Father’s Day time capsule in the future. How priceless would this moment be, when the time capsule is opened on Father’s Day again, 20 years from now? It would be a fun time of reminiscing with family and friends as these letters are read.
- Make a jar with your father’s favorite candy in it, along with a fun note on the outside.
- Have the kids fill out fun “All About My Dad” Questionnaires to include in the Father’s Day Time Capsule. How would you describe your father?
