Graduation Party Ideas
These graduation party ideas are a blast. Some of them are a blast from the past, as family and friends gather around to remember the younger days and accomplishments of the graduate student. Get everyone involved and having fun with these graduation party ideas.
It has been years worth of hard work, tears, laughter, homework, projects, after school hours, homework, books…and did I mention homework? It has also been many years of memories, photos, vacations, dates, dances, tragedies, wins, growth mentally, physically, and socially. Our lives can change so fast. Sometimes we do not realize how fast time flies, until it comes to milestone moments like graduation parties.
Drinks
Start the party off right with fun, personalized graduation cap drinks. You could even have several different photos of the graduate all lined up, in order of grades, on the table for guests to just take a drink for the party. What a fun idea that would be. It would also be interesting to see the photos lined up in order, to see how much the graduate did or did not change in hair or face over the years from kindergarten to senior year in high school or college. Food
Line up snacks on a fun, decorative table each starting with the letters from the report card (A through F). Set up a candy bar with your graduate’s favorite candy and snacks that helped him or her make it through school. You could also set up the food table in the order of different snacks or favorite side dishes, coordinated to at what age photo your child or graduate liked that food. Put the food in order of them growing up with their favorite snacks, like a trip down memory lane table.
You don’t have to be the one to cook. You can also make it a pot luck graduation party. Have the guests bring recipe cards with their recipes written out so the graduate can put together their first cookbook with easy recipes to make for their future life. Also, if other guests want to know how to make a recipe, all you have to do is make a copy of the card for them right there. Don’t forget the graduation cake or cup cakes at the end of the food bar of course.
Decorations
- Put out a school shirt or plain shirt for guests to sign and then the graduate will have a memorable going away gift from the graduation party.
- Set up fun table decorations showing the graduate student, then and now. As you walk around the party, it can be a walk down memory lane.
- Decorate a table with items that represent the life of the graduate student from kindergarten until now. What was their favorite sport to play, awards earned, favorite music, favorite movie, pet, etc? Don’t forget to put out the scrapbooks, photo albums, and guest book for everyone to sign.
- Make it a heartfelt, enduring, and sentimental graduation party by making a Graduation Time Capsule. Have guests fill out “Message to the Future” letters about their wishes for the graduate and predictions for their future. Include things like where they will go to college, when they will get married, how many kids they will have in the future, or other predictions about the world 10, 20, or 30 years from now.
