Easter Memories
Reminisce about Easter memories in your family. It is a fun time for family and friends to gather and create memories together. Every year your family may do the same traditional fun for this holiday. What do you like to do on Easter?
This year we encourage you to have fun doing your family traditions along with a new activity. The week before, my mother and I would always go out shopping to find a new Easter dress to wear to church. Not everyone goes to church on Easter, and that is fine. That is just something that is important to my family.
Make a Family Time Capsule
From shopping for your favorite candy to finding an Easter basket to put your eggs in, and other activities, this holiday is so much fun. A new fun idea this year is to use an “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule to make a scavenger hunt for Easter eggs. Imagine filling eggs and scattering them throughout the house or yard. Each egg will have clues in them about where to find special items or mementos that tell a story about the family. When the item is found, it is put in the Family Time Capsule, that you make out of the “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule. Add any photos you want to the outside of this Family Time Capsule representing who you are.
Spring is a time for new beginnings. Use this DIY Family Time Capsule, filled with Easter memories and other heirloom memorabilia. Imagine re-opening this Family Time Capsule 20 or 30 years from now. Some of your family members may not be around then, but their stories, Easter memories, and other nostalgic items will be there.
Easter Memories Picnic
Have a fun Easter memories picnic this year. Tell each family member write down their favorite recipe, and then bring that meal to the picnic. It is also a great idea to save this recipe in the Family Time Capsule too. Sometimes we do not know what we have until it is gone. Do not wait until a great grandparent passes away, to get a recipe. The recipe may only be in her head, so have her write it down now, to pass on to future generations in the family.
Also make sure you take plenty of photos and video record the kids collecting all these eggs, or having fun painting eggs for their Easter memories day. Spend the day doing something productive together too, like planting flowers in a garden, as you are celebrating Spring and new beginnings. Planting flowers can be a great time to bond with your children too, as you talk about keeping the weeds out of your life, so that new things can continually grow beautiful.
There are so many other holidays you can make a do it yourself time capsule for too, like New Years time capsule, Christmas, Valentine’s, your own Birthday, etc. The sky’s the limit with this “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule. Check out some of the ideas here in this photo. Each time capsule comes with special paperwork to get you started. For example, there is a profile book to fill out about what the world is like now.
