Best Friend Time Capsule
Make a best friend time capsule? Show your best friend how much you mean to each other, even 20 years later when you open your Best Friend Time Capsule again and reminisce about the good old days. What all have you accomplished together as best friends? What trips have you gone on together?
Best Friend Journal Keepsake
Start by keeping a journal that you write back and forth throughout your school years. Can you imagine reading this journal you wrote in while you and your best friend were in sixth grade together, then opening the time capsule at graduation and reading it again. I am sure you would be laughing and possibly crying together as you re-read your journal from when you first started your junior high days at school.
Keepsakes like Sentimental School Mementos and Memorabilia
Throughout the year, make sure you collect your most important mementos and memorabilia from school, sports, clubs, and other activities or events you have together. What was the first movie you saw together as best friends? Save that movie ticket stub as a memento? Did you take a vacation together? If so, did you save some of the sand from a beach or another souvenir?
What were some of your items on your best friend bucket list that you want to accomplish before you graduate high school or college? These are all great items to make sure you take pictures of when you accomplish them. Also, you can save mementos from your bucket list too, and put them in the Best Friend Time Capsule.
Keepsakes to Record or Make for our Best Friend Time Capsule
- Your nicknames for each other. Do you use a secret code to talk to each other? If so, describe what that code is so you do not forget in 10, 20, or 30 years from now when you open your Best Friend Time Capsule.
- Write down or show pictures of your birthday parties together and what presents you got each other. I wonder if you will still have some of these presents years later. You will have them, if you save them in the Best Friend Time Capsule.
- Fill out a profile book about the world and about you. There is one of these books included with the “Any Occasion” DIY Time Capsule, seen here. Just add your own favorite photos to the outside of this DIY Time Capsule and make it your own Best Friend Time Capsule. You can also paint, draw, or put your own artwork on the outside of this DIY Time Capsule making it however you want. Make sure you sign the bottom of this time capsule, as the best friends who helped make this unique gift for each other.
- Take pictures of your current hair color and see how it changes in the future, when you open your Best Friend Time Capsule.
- Write down the things you do together when you are bored.
- Fill out a “Message to the Future” letter to yourselves about where you think you will be in 10, 20, or 30 years from now (or whenever you decide to open your time capsule in the future). What do you predict will happen in the future? Where will you go to college? Will you be married? How many kids will you have?
- Include one of your favorite shirts, or cut off a piece of an old clothing you no longer wear, so you know what style of clothes you liked during this time in your life.
- Write down who all you have dated or had crushes on this current year. Then put this list in your Best Friend Time Capsule at the end of the year. I wonder if you will marry your high-school sweetheart.
- What are your favorite sports or hobbies? Make sure you include photos of these special times and your awards received throughout school.
- Record small clips of your favorite music, movies or tv shows, and save that video clip to you tube. Then write down the link, so you can go back years later and watch it. You can also video record you answering some of these questions.
- Talk about who are your life mentors and how they help you during this year in your life.
- Talk about your favorite holidays too, and why.
- Finally, make sure you also talk about your family and what it is like to spend the night at each other’s house.
What is one of your favorite memories of your best friend? Comment below.
Making Milestone Moments Count,
