Being grateful is powerful. Savor everyday moments. When we have things to look back on that happened in our lives, it helps us go to sleep at night. It can help you focus on the positive in your life, instead of the negative which can stress you out. What things are you grateful for in your life right now?
Being Grateful Motivates You
Being grateful can help you stay focused on your goals in life. Being grateful can help you remember things, like favorite quotes, scriptures, or words of wisdom to repeat to yourself during the hard times. Keep a journal for you to carry with you throughout the day. A small one can fit right in your pocket or purse. Write down motivational thoughts you hear, things that you see others do to help you, moments of remembrance, etc to help you stay grateful.
You can also use your work calendar to write down little notes of things that happened that day to make it a great day. When you write down at least one thing positive from your day, every day, it helps you stay grateful during the difficult days. Helping others helps us many times. Why not think of one kind thing you can do every day for one year. If you accept this challenge, you will be amazed at how being grateful motivates you to do more to help others.
Being Grateful Helps Bond Families and Friendships
Have you ever taken the time to hand write a thank you letter to someone who has made a deep and positive impact on your life? Who can you think of that has been a great mentor to you? You can even make a fun grateful photo album. Only save specific photos for this album of people and events in your life when you are positive and having fun with your family and friends. This would be a great photo album to get out and look at when you are feeling down. Sometimes, even when we are not around our friends, all we have to do is look at their photo and we would know what they would say to us to comfort us. Be grateful for these friends and family members.
There is a reason why great quotes on social media are so popular and get the most likes, comments, and shares. People need to be reminded about the power of being grateful and it elevates our mood. In a world of negativity, it is a no wonder why it is so healthy to think about the positive every day, and be thankful.
Being Grateful is Good for your Health
Being grateful during the good and bad times in your life has shown to positively affect your health. There are many different articles out there about this subject. It affects your physical, mental, social, and emotional health. Others around you will start to notice a difference. Start easily by putting one positive quote or thought on your social media page you use the most, every day.
You will start to feel different and notice others who may join in on the fun. Being grateful is infectious. Then, choose a date you want to open this time capsule in the future, and put that date on the lid of the time capsule where it says, “Do NOT Open Until.” Then, when that date arrives, open your life journey time capsule, and reminisce about what life was like again, during that year you made this memorable time capsule of gratitude. You never know, the day you open that time capsule you may just read the “Message to the Future” letter that you wrote yourself telling yourself positive thoughts that you need to hear 2o or 30 years from now.
