So, the car is all packed and ready to go the next morning. You are all planning on waking up at 5:00am to get a good start, but we all know how that can change, especially if you have kids. It is Spring Break, so you can sleep in you know. I don’t know if you are like my family or not, but when we all get in the car to leave it never fails that someone forgot something, so after about 10 or 15 minutes of driving we end up going back to the house to get whatever we need.

It may seem frustrating, but sometimes the annoying moments now, become great memories later to laugh about. What do you have planned for Spring Break? You don’t always have to go somewhere to make it fun and memorable. Check out this great list of memorable inexpensive Spring Break activities to do with your family this year.

1. Cure your kids boredom with having one day be a story day. The kids find their favorite book to read or write their own book or play. You can even let them make their own costumes and act out their story or play for you the parents as the audience. What a fun memory that will last forever.

2. Have your own cupcake wars episode at home and make cupcakes or another desert together. You can even have each kid make their own desert and then give out awards at the end when everything has been tested by the parents. Make sure each kid wins. Not only will you teach cooking skills in a fun way, but you get a tasty reward in the end. Now that is a win, win for me.

3. Let your kids personality come out more and help them rearrange their room any way they want to. This can be a great excuse to make sure they also clean their room over Spring Break. Let their creativity come out more as they spend time making their own drawings to hang on the wall in their new room.

4. Go to the museum or local zoo. It can be a fun and educational time for your kids while out of school. Don’t forget to save your ticket stubs and other souvenirs you may purchase while there, to remember your Spring Break for this year. You can save these mementos or memorabilia in a time capsule.
